Noland Cuyler lives on the Lower East Side with his brother ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) taylordean and is your resident tortured soul. He was born shortly after his parent's marriage started its rocky descent to hell. After his brother was born his mother left his father for a rich stock broker who whisked her away to her Upper East Side paradise. Noland and his brother stuck around with their father who started drinking heavily whenever he wasn't working. Noland took over as his younger brother's guardian when he turned 17 and got his own apartment. He's been working for a construction company for the past 5 years to pay the bills.
Noland has always been very smart, and he knows that he is. He picks up on things very quickly and learns very fast. His only problem is that he never applies himself. In high school he preferred cutting class, hanging in the park and smoking the cigarettes he stole from his dad. He taught himself guitar when he was 13 and has always been very ambitious when it comes to music. When it came time for graduation he decided to give college a try and started at New School in the fall of 2005 but he ended up dropping out before his second semester started. YESTERDAY'S THEORY (reminiscent of BRAND NEW) was formed shortly after he left school. The band has gotten a large following since then and he puts most of his effort into touring and promoting his band.
As far as personality goes, he's not usually the friendliest person right off the bat. He was treated like shit for a large part of his life and he really just doesn't trust people he meets, and usually he thinks they have ulterior motives. Once he really gets to know someone the layers peel off and hes a huge sweetheart. When it comes to love he usually falls hard and fast and wears his heart on his sleeve. This leaves him angsty and emo because 9 times out of 10 he just gets his little heart broken.
His main goal in life is to stay happy and not turn out anything like his parents. He wants to make money doing what he loves.
